FOR RESIDENTS WITH MUNICIPAL TRASH COLLECTION

Curbside Collection Information

Paper

Acceptable items - Place in paper bag, bin or any open container

  • Newspaper/inserts
  • Magazines/catalogs
  • Brown paper bags
  • Junk mail, phone books, hard and soft covered books
  • Office paper
  • Paperboard (cereal, cracker boxes). Remove plastic liners
  • Corrugated cardboard, flatten, no bigger than . Must be in brown paper bag or blue recycling bin (max 2' X 2')

All paper & cardboard must be clean and dry.

Not Accepted

  • NO plastic bags
  • NO dirty pizza boxes (ONLY CLEAN boxes may be recycled if cut up)

Containers

Place in bin or any open container

  • Glass bottles/jars, all colors and sizes
  • Aluminum, tin/steel cans and lids, deposit and non-deposit beverage cans,
  • Aluminum foil/pie plates
  • Plastic food and beverage containers labeled
  • Milk cartons and juice boxes

Not Accepted

  • NO styrofoam
  • NO packing materials
  • NO plastic trays
  • NO plastic bags
  • NO items containing paint, aerosol or hazardous materials
  • NO broken glass, windows glass, dishes, Pyrex, ceramics

Batteries

Household batteries are all mercury free so they can be thrown out with the trash. Button cell batteries SHOULD NOT be put out with the trash because half of them still contain mercury. Button cell batteries and recyclable batteries should be brought to the household hazardous waste collections.

Yard Waste - Must obtain sticker from Collector's Office

  • Leaves, grass, other easily raked materials
  • Drop-off days - Wednesdays, year round, 9:00 Am - 12:00 PM

Christmas Trees (Curbside)

  • Remove tinsel, twine, ornaments
  • 1st 2 weeks of January

Corrugated Cardboard

  • Corrugated cardboard at drop-off can be larger than 2' X 2'

Fluorescent light bulbs

  • No charge at Rocky's Ace Hardware (653 Main St)
  • No eight foot lengths

Cell phones, mercury thermometers, mercury thermostats (Drop-off)

Curbside Recycling Collection Schedule

Recycling is collected every other week on your regular trash day, Monday - Friday. Shade week residents have their recycling collected on weeks shaded. Non-shaded week residents have their recycling collected on weeks not shaded. Click here for calendar.

Holiday Schedule

When a scheduled collection day falls on a holiday, that day's collection and all remaining collections for that week will be delayed one day (see calendar). Friday's collection will be on Saturday. Holidays are circled. Click here for holiday schedule
