Cleanup Plan Proposed
Find out about EPA's cleanup proposal at this informational meeting
The proposed cleanup plan's key components are:
- excavation and off-site disposal of contaminated soil from east of South Street;
- land use restrictions on and excavation and off-site disposal of contaminated
soil from the Area of Containment (west of South Street);
- excavation and/or dredging and off-site disposal of sediment and soil from the
Former Mill Tailrace, Neponset River Floodplain and Lewis Pond.
A 30-day public comment period will close 7/18/08.
Formal comments can be submitted in writing by fax, post,
or e-mail and can be made during the 7/14/08 public hearing to be held
at 7 pm in the Walpole Town Hall's main meeting room.
